The Urban League of Greater Madison is joining the National Urban League and several other partners in a nonpartisan effort to register more voters, educate voters on their rights, and motivate more voters to get out to the polls. The organization is seeking volunteers for a variety of roles, including:

Neighborhood canvassing — Volunteer to help an event that will provide information about where to vote, voter ID requirements, early and absentee voting rules, and more. Training and refreshments will be provided. Locations are TBD, and dates and times include Oct. 26, Nov. 2, and Nov. 4–5, all from 10 a.m.–1 p.m.

“Reclaim Your Vote” Hustle texting — Volunteer to join the National Urban League in this campaign. Hustle is a platform for easy, two-way, personalized conversations over text. Training is free and takes only a few minutes.

“Roll to the Poll” drivers — Volunteers are needed on election day (Tuesday, Nov. 5) to help drive individuals who may have transportation access or mobility challenges to and from the polls. For those needing a ride for early voting, the organization can provide a LYFT voucher or arrange a ride.

The Urban League of Greater Madison also serves as an early voting site in partnership with the city of Madison Clerk’s Office. Vote early at the following locations and times:

Urban League, Black Business Hub, 2352 S. Park St., by appointment only, with a call to the Clerk’s Office at (608) 266-4601 at least 48 hours in advance;

Urban League, Center for Workforce & Economic Development, 2222 S. Park St. on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Oct. 27 from noon–4 p.m., Nov. 2 from 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m., and Nov. 3 from noon–4 p.m.; and

Urban League, Southwest Madison Employment Center, 1233 McKenna Blvd., by appointment only, with a call to the Clerk’s Office at (608) 266-4601 at least 48 hours in advance.
