Businesses began filing tariff refunds on Monday, with UPS and FedEx among those to file for a refund, CNBC reported.
The refund process affects levies collected under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, or IEEPA. These are the tariffs the U.S. Supreme Court deemed unconstitutional in February.
UPS said this week that it will work to request and retrieve tariff refunds, which could take up to three months to be paid, but result in customers receiving refunds.
FedEx also told CNBC it is filing claims for refunds. Again, like UPS, the company will refund shippers and consumers who paid the tariff charges once it receives the money.
