Iowa-based UnityPoint Health, owner of Meriter and UW Health hospitals, announced President and CEO Kevin Vermeer is stepping down at the end of April, according to a company statement.
Sue Thompson, senior vice president of integration and optimization and CEO of UnityPoint Accountable Care, will serve as interim CEO while a national search is conducted for a permanent replacement.
