Gorman & Co. is altering its plans for Union Corners. The height of proposed apartment buildings near existing single-family houses may be trimmed, commercial buildings could increase in height, and some surface parking may be relocated underground. Gorman & Co. will release more specific plans after meeting with a steering committee this weekend.

In January, the city Plan Commission asked Gorman to go back to the drawing board because proposed plans were significantly different than the initial project plans. Part of the reason for that, according to Gorman & Co. CEO Gary Gorman, was that the initial plans were designed based on $14 million in TIF, rather than the current agreement providing land but no cash.
