Madison’s 2.9% unemployment rate in February remains the lowest of the state’s 32-largest cities, even though it increased from 2.7% in January.
In the latest report from the State Department of Workforce Development, 30 of the state’s 32 largest cities reported increased unemployment numbers. Only Eau Claire and La Crosse remained the same, at 3.7% and 3.9% respectively.
Racine jumped from 5.7% to 6.3% month to month, the state’s highest rate.
