Dane County continues to boast the state’s lowest unemployment rate. In March, the county’s rate fell to 4.4%, according to a preliminary report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. All but six of Wisconsin’s 72 counties saw decreases. Iron County has the highest unemployment rate, at 13.1%. Statewide in March, preliminary numbers show an improvement from 6.9% a year ago to 5.9%.
