The Department of Workforce Development announced Tuesday that tax documents for those who received unemployment insurance last year can now access tax statements online.
Those who received unemployment insurance benefits in 2025 must report the benefits as taxable income on their 2025 tax returns. The 1099-G income tax statements for the year are accessible through UI’s Claimant Portal.
Unemployment benefits are considered taxable income for both federal and state income taxes.
Claimants should not expect to be mailed paper copies of their 1099-G statements unless they were granted a long-term exception to using online services.
