The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the unemployment estimates for metro areas in Wisconsin that includes updates for July 2016 and preliminary figures for August.

Fitchburg has the lowest municipal unemployment rate at 2.6%, while Racine has the highest, at 6.7%. The figures are not seasonally adjusted.

For metro areas, the Greater Madison area comes in at 2.8% unemployment, while the Racine metro area is also highest in the state at 5.3%.
