June unemployment in the nation fell to 11.1% and the economy added 4.8 million jobs, according to the Department of Labor. However, recovery may stall as a spike in COVID-19 cases is causing renewed closings and layoffs, according to an Associated Press report.
In May, the jobless rate was 13.3% and while the June figures show people getting back to work, the data is from the second week of June, before several states began to reverse reopenings of businesses.
