U.S. stocks drift around all-time highs on Wednesday

The U.S. stock market is nearing record highs on Wednesday as the U.S. dollar stabilizes after falling to its lowest level in about four years, the Associated Press reports.

The S&P 500 reached 6,973, the Dow Jones 48,977 and the NASDAQ Composite was at 23,846 on Wednesday afternoon.

Wall Street was also affected by the Federal Reserve deciding to hold its main interest rate steady, which was expected.

Chip maker Nvidia remained strong, with its stock rising 1.7%.

Dutch company ASML, which helps make chips, also topped analyst expectations in terms of revenue as AI remains a strong business venture.
