The U.S. stock market appeared to recover Friday after a dip, thanks to the sharp losses banks experienced yesterday.

According to the Associated Press, the S&P 500 rose 0.4% in afternoon trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 198 points, or 0.4%, as of 12:49 p.m. Eastern time, and the Nasdaq composite was 0.3% higher.

All three indexes vacillated between gains and losses throughout Friday morning, but the swings weren’t as large as some earlier this week.

Nvidia saw a gain of 0.5%, and big tech stocks helped raise the market.
