Last quarter, the U.S. economy grew at an annual rate of 6.4%, showing a positive direction for recovery from the pandemic recession, according to a report from the Associated Press. The strength is attributed to government aid, declining viral cases, and the willingness of consumers to spend again. Expectations for the current quarter should be even better as the number of people seeking unemployment aid reached its lowest point since the pandemic struck. Additionally, the National Association of Realtors said that more Americans signed contracts to buy homes in March, showing a strong housing market as the busy buying season approaches. U.S. employers added 916,000 jobs in March of this year, the biggest increase in hiring since August.
