Marinette Marine Corp. will build additional littoral combat ships under a revised contract announced by the U.S. Navy.
The Navy has allocated $715 million for the construction of the future USS Little Rock and USS Sioux City. Both ships are designed to operate in shallower waters in costal areas.
Marinette Marine continues to work on littoral combat ships already awarded in previous Navy contracts. In January, the company told IB that it would be in a brisk job training and hiring phase for several months, adding as many as 100 employees per month.
