The U.S. job market barely moved from the previous month with 7.7 million U.S. job openings in October, according to the Labor Department.

September had 7.66 million job openings, with October at 7.67 million, the Associated Press reported.

The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey also showed layoffs rose to almost 1.9 million in October, the most since January 2023.

March 2022 notched 12.1 million job openings, and since then, the number has decreased. High interest rates and an uncertain economy are all factors.
