The U.S. economy grew at the fastest pace in two years from July through September, the Associated Press reports.
Strong consumer spending, which makes up 70% of U.S. gross domestic product, pushed the GDP up 4.4%, up from 3.8% in the April-June quarter. Spending rose 3.5%.
Initial estimates put the growth at 4.3%.
The last time the economy grew this quickly was the third quarter of 2023.
Meanwhile, the job market is weaker overall, with only 28,000 jobs added each month since March, compared to 400,000 per month in 2021-2023.
