As of the end of June, U.S. Bank has overtaken M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank in Wisconsin market share for the first time in over a decade, according to the FDIC. U.S. Bank reported $21.8 billion in deposits (16.95% of market) while M&I Marshall & Ilsley reported $21.76 billion (16.91%). However, BMO Harris acquired M&I in early July, and adding BMO’s results in, M&I’s market share gains the top position once again, with 17.91% of the Wisconsin market, followed by U.S. Bank and then Associated Bank. In the Madison area as of June 30, M&I remained in the top position (15.77% of market), followed by U.S. Bank (12.93%), and then Anchor Bank (8.51%).
