Police reported that two teens could face charges for an attempted burglary of an Oregon gun shop on Christmas Eve, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
Oregon police officers responded to Max Creek Outdoors Gun Shop and Range at 1042 Park St. just before 7:30 p.m. for an attempted burglary in progress. Officers arriving on-scene saw a vehicle leaving the gun shop and attempted to stop it. The driver fled at high speed with the headlights off.
Two juveniles were taken into custody in the vehicle later than night in Winnebago County, Illinois. An investigation led Oregon detectives to identify and locate the two suspected juveniles.
One of them, a 15-year-old from Beloit, will be referred to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office for one count of burglary, knowingly fleeing an officer, and one count of damage to property; the other, a 16-year-old from Rockford, Illinois, will be referred for one count of burglary, one count of possession of burglarious tools, and one count of damage to property.
