Madison’s TruStage insurance company and its union, OPEIU Local 39, reached a tentative labor contract agreement last week, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The news follows almost two years of negotiations and a weeklong union strike last spring.

The old contract between TruStage, formerly CUNA Mutual Group, and its union, which represents 450 of its employees, expired in February 2022. TruStage has roughly 4,200 employees, including 1,700 in the Madison area.

TruStage CEO Terrance Williams said, “We are pleased the bargaining teams representing TruStage and the Office of Professional Employees International Union Local 39 have reached a full tentative collective bargaining agreement. We are grateful for the hard work and engagement from both bargaining teams, working with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services in recent weeks, which brought us to this point.”

A ratification vote could happen soon.
