After a six-year hiatus, Troy Farm’s Pizza Nights are returning, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. The events, held every Thursday through Sept. 18, allow people to pick up preordered pizzas and salads made primarily from ingredients grown on the 26-acre property.
Troy Farm, located on Madison’s north side, is owned by the Madison Area Community Land Trust and managed by Rooted, an area nonprofit. Rooted has around a dozen full-time staff and over 1,000 active volunteers, some of whom participate in Pizza Nights.
Pizzas are cooked onsite in a wood-burning oven, and the garden area in the center of the community garden is transformed into a temporary event space with tables and tents.
