U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday U.S. military personnel will be paid at the end of this week, according to an Associated Press report.

The country is in its second-longest federal government shutdown, with many federal workers furloughed or working without pay.

The food assistance program, SNAP, will also lose funding in November, and airports are experiencing delays as unpaid air traffic controllers leave the job.

Vance did not give a plan for payment, but in early October, the Trump administration used funds from military research and development to pay military members.
