The 113-year-old train depot at 640 W. Washington Ave. in Madison will likely get a facelift from architect Ed Linville who is working with the property owner and local restaurateur Gil Altschul to update the building and rename it Washington Market. Glass doors would be added to surround what Altschul envisions as a small version of Seattle’s Pike Place Market, offering seafood, flowers, and produce. Retail kiosks would replace three of five railcars, and a taco bar and coffee shop are also being proposed, according to reports.
