Toyota announced on Monday it would invest $1 billion total at plants in Kentucky and Indianna, CNBC reported.
The spending is part of a plan to invest up to $10 billion domestically in the next five years.
A large chunk of the investment includes $800 million at a plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, to increase production capacity for its Camry sedan and RAV4 crossover vehicles.
The plant in Princeton, Indiana, will receive $200 million to increase capacity for the Toyota Grand Highlander SUV.
