Local food producers Yumbutter, RP’s Pasta, and Ona Treats, a newcomer to Madison, merged in February according to a story in The Capital Times.
Natural Food Partners, an investment group, provided $2 million in growth capital and placed the three companies under a new umbrella named Tribe 9.
The local businesses will reportedly continue operating with their separate missions, but will be able leverage resources and share logistics, marketing, communications, and distribution networks to improve efficiencies.
Yumbutter produces artisan nut butters, RP’s Pasta makes fresh, mostly gluten-free pasta, and Ona Treats, a transplant from Colorado, makes grain-free energy bars and cookies.
Tribe 9 will also be able to offer contract manufacturing or co-packing, according to the story.
