After nearly a decade of slinging tacos, the Ohio Tavern will close on Sunday before reopening under new owners in March.
Owner Josh Swentzel sold the tavern, located at 224 Ohio Ave., on Madison’s east side.
Swentzel told the Wisconsin State Journal that he has two young kids to take care of, which is hard while running a restaurant.
According to Swentzel, the tavern sold nearly half a million tacos during his tenure. And although there will be three new owners, it is expected that the tacos and much of the business — which is one of the oldest bars in Madison — will remain the same.
