The University of Wisconsin natatorium, known as “The Nat,” will be replaced by a new fitness facility named after a major donor, the Bakke family, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. Jim and Sue Bakke contributed $20 million to the $113.2 million facility, at 2000 Observatory Drive, to be named the Bakke Recreational and Wellbeing Center. The project includes a 25-yard recreational pool, eight basketball courts, an ice arena, and an indoor track. The project is expected to be complete in 2023.
