The Center for Black Excellence and Culture was awarded a $1 million grant by Gov. Tony Evers, according to WMTV15. The Center is now just $2 million away from a debt-free opening.

A groundbreaking for the new facility, which has secured support from a number of public and private entities, took place in June. The $1 million announced today follows $5 million awarded by state officials in 2022.

The Center will provide a space for leadership, innovation, collaboration, and more. It is anticipated to open late next year.
