The Center for Black Excellence and Culture will officially open May 6 with a grand opening celebration and community open house from 2-6 p.m.

The Center, located at 671 W. Badger Road, a cultural space for Black community members, is a new, debt-free, 37,000-square-foot building.

“This is a moment we have imagined, worked toward and prayed for and believed in for years,” said Alex Gee, founder and CEO of The Center, in a press release. “It was made possible by the care, conviction and courageous investment of our teams, our community and Black partners across this state who believed this vision was not only necessary but inevitable.”

The open house is free to the public.
