Madison-based Tellurian Behavioral Health is operating two of five new regional crisis stabilization facilities now open in Wisconsin, according to Wisconsin Public Radio. The centers, which aim to improve access to care for those with mental health or substance abuse issues, are located in Madison, Waukesha, Beaver Dam, La Crosse, and Wausau. They are designed to accommodate a short-term stay for someone in crisis and provide services to deescalate from a crisis, individual counseling, and skill building.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services allocated $10 million of the state’s federal COVID relief funds to help pay for the facilities after the state Legislature approved the idea last year.
