Techline USA announced the closing of its Waunakee plant as of June 9. Initially, 82 jobs will be terminated, with a remaining 11 workers laid off on a weekly basis through October, when existing work will be completed.
Founded by Marshall Erdman in 1969, Techline makes high-quality office and business storage cabinets and work surface tops. In a Department of Workforce Development news release, general manager John Lasky said the business is no longer able to compete in the global marketplace, which favors “lower-cost goods with shorter product life spans.”
