The owner and operator of the AC Hotel by Marriott Madison Downtown at the top of East Washington Avenue will open yet another Marriott-branded hotel in 2021. According to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal, the Middleton-based North Central Group is looking to open the Moxy by Marriott, a technology-focused hotel aimed at attracting tech-savvy travelers who may visit for business, concerts at the Sylvee, or events at Breese Stevens field, which are just a block away.
North Central Group hopes to break ground this summer at 825 E. Washington Ave. The 156-room hotel will be between six and nine stories tall and promises tech-enabled features such as rooms with keyless entry, motion-detection lighting, plenty of outlets for charging devices, communal spaces, and a bar. The hotel will also have a mix of on-site and valet parking.
