Madison’s TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS) is upgrading its Blanchardville network to fiber-optic technology. The project, which is expected to launch to customers next spring, will bring up to 8-Gig internet speeds to all addresses included in the build. Dedicated 10-Gig connections will also be available with a service level agreement for commercial customers.
TDS is funding the entire upgrade project that will benefit about 500 Blanchardville addresses. Customers are encouraged to explore whether they are eligible for discounted rates through the federal Affordable Connectivity Program; an estimated 40% of U.S. households qualify to receive this benefit to reduce the cost of internet access.
Beyond Blanchardville, TDS is also building all-fiber networks in nearby Dodgeville and Mineral Point. Residents interested in learning more about TDS fiber services can click here for more information.
