TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS) has boosted top internet speeds in Sun Prairie eightfold. Speeds up to 8 Gig are now available to both residents and businesses as a result of a TDS fiber network upgrade. The news comes just months after TDS began launching 8 Gig speeds in Stoughton, and additional upgrades are forthcoming to the area.
TDS finalized the acquisition of Sun Prairie Utilities fiber assets in 2017 and immediately began expanding the fiber footprint in the community. The company invested about $15 million to add more than 170 miles of fiber, completing the project in 2018.
TDS began rolling out up to 8 Gig speeds in late 2022 in its fiber footprint and has been increasing availability over time. The Madison-headquartered company will also continue to offer 1 Gig in Sun Prairie, a range of other symmetrical internet choices and TV and phone service.
