A task force charged with addressing the financial struggles of Madison’s four city golf courses has recommended the city close half of Yahara Hills and seek a public-private partnership for the operation of the Monona Golf Course, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.

Under the recommendations, 18 of the 36 holes at Yahara Hills would close and a private business would take over the operation, maintenance, and investment costs of Monona Golf Course. The recommendations still need to go through necessary city committees and earn the City Council’s approval.
