Gotta catch ‘em all — at Target.
The chain is the sole major retailer to collaborate with the Pokémon Company International on a slew of Pokémon-themed products in celebration of the game’s 30th anniversary. The special items go on sale May 2.
From a first-ever Starter jacket to reversible jerseys featuring Gyrados and Magikarp, to Butterfree hair clips and even a Bulbasaur fragrance mist, Target is releasing over 100 items in a variety of categories.
The first launch of products will be in-store on May 2 with a second on June 6. About 65 items launch Saturday, with about 40 more products released in June. The online launch for the first wave of products will happen on May 3 beginning at 8 a.m. Central time.
“We know our guests love Pokémon, and we worked with the brand to make this 30th celebration really fun and exciting — even tapping long-time fans within our own team to design it,” Gigi Guerra, vice president of creative curation at Target, said in a statement.
“It’s a clear expression of how Target leads with merchandising authority — bringing together our trend expertise and deep fan insights to create what guests are excited about right now, in a way that’s unmistakably and exclusively Target.”
