Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and the Madison Public Library Board announced the selection of Tana Elias as the new director of Madison Public Library, according to the city of Madison. Elias currently serves as the library’s digital services and marketing manager.
Elias brings 30 years of experience in various roles at Madison Public Library, where she has led rebranding and strategic planning efforts, managed staff and community engagement initiatives, and implemented innovative services and programs. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from UW–Madison, is an active member of several professional associations, and serves on a nonprofit board in the community.
Elias will become the library director on May 12, pending formal approval by the Library Board and Common Council. Krissy Wick is currently serving as interim library director.
