A new taco and seafood restaurant, La Playita Tacos Y Mariscos, will be opening in the former Migrants space at 2601 W. Beltline Hwy., according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Co-owner Roger de la Cruz plans to open Wednesday with partners Humberto Macias and Jonathan Gonzales.
De la Cruz is also a minor partner in Mineral Point Road’s BigSur, a California-style Mexican spot. La Playita, in contrast, will serve more traditional fare with a seafood emphasis. Menu highlights will include seafood tostadas, ceviche, seafood and shrimp soup, shrimp cocktails, fried tilapia, a number of octopus and shrimp dishes, and piña rellena.
