In a recent survey by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, 75% of Wisconsin companies said the state’s safer-at-home order had a negative impact on their business financially.
Nearly 150 employers stated the top public policy issue facing Wisconsin is the regulatory environment related to COVID-19, with workforce shortages ranking second. Although most businesses experienced a negative financial impact from the pandemic, only 23% of businesses predict they will end 2020 with a negative number on the balance sheet.
Fifty-one percent of businesses in the state said they will end the year with a profit, but they will be less profitable than previous years.
