A recent survey by Milwaukee-based accounting and advisory firm Wipfli found that despite worries over a possible recession, the vast majority of U.S. manufacturers expect increased revenues next year, according to WisBusiness.
The survey saw 335 manufacturing company respondents, 11% of which were Wisconsin-based. The company’s report showed that 88% projected higher revenues in 2024. Thirty-five percent said they feel much better about their company’s financial future than they did at the beginning of 2023; 44% said they feel somewhat better about it; 11% said they feel somewhat worse; 8% said no change; and 2% said they feel much worse.
Simultaneously, 24% said they are very worried about the business impacts of a possible recession; 67% said they are somewhat worried; and 9% said they’re not worried at all.
Still, the most common macroeconomic worry among respondents was inflation — 30% responded accordingly.
