The Wisconsin Employer Survey, conducted in January of this year by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), found that 88% of Wisconsin businesses are struggling to hire, and the workforce shortage is leading to even higher wage increases than last year. The survey found that eight in 10 companies plan to raise wages by 3% or more in 2022. Additionally, 34% of businesses surveyed said they plan to raise wages by more than 4% in 2022. Last summer, roughly 25% said they would raise wages by more than 4%.
