Should employers be allowed to require their employees to sign arbitration agreements waiving their right to pursue group claims against them?
The National Labor Relations Board says such agreements go against employee rights to band together to complain about issues such as unpaid overtime or wage disputes. Lower courts have split on the decisions. Now, the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to study the matter, which affects millions of employees.
The Court will consider cases filed against Verona-based Epic Systems, Murphy Oil USA, and Ernst & Young, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
