Sun Prairie sues firms over explosion

The city of Sun Prairie filed suit against six firms over last summer’s deadly July 10 gas explosion that killed firefighter Cory Barr and destroyed or damaged multiple downtown buildings, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Named in the suit are Bear Communications of Kansas; Michigan-based VC Tech; USIC Locating Services, based in Indiana; two insurers providing liability insurance to Bear; and WE Energies of Milwaukee. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and costs.
