The Sun Prairie Area School District, in partnership with the Sun Prairie Education Foundation and community donors, announced the launch of a new initiative designed to fight student hunger, the Food for Thought program.
This initiative will provide free, healthy snacks during the school day for middle and high school students. Staff will be able to access snacks for students through each building’s student services office.
The Food for Thought program builds on the Fruit Bowl initiative already in place at the elementary level and expands that vision to older students. This effort comes as the number of students experiencing homelessness or qualifying for free and reduced-price meals continues to rise in Sun Prairie.
Community members interested in supporting the program can contact the district for more information.
