After plans for a new headquarters building on East Washington Avenue in Madison proved too expensive, Summit Credit Union has broken ground on an 11-acre site in Cottage Grove along Interstate 94.
The state’s second largest credit union will build a six-story, 152,000-square-foot building at 1709 Landmark Drive that will also include a full-service credit union branch.
About half of Summit’s employees — 250 of 510 — will relocate there when the building is completed in March 2019, boosting Cottage Grove’s employment figures by 15%, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
Strang is the architect and J. H. Findorff & Son is the contractor.
Summit’s current headquarters is at 4800 American Parkway.
