Summit could bring investors to local biotech

Madison-based Cellectar Biosciences Inc. will participate in the Oppenheimer Rare & Orphan Disease Summit on May 21, according to a release from the company. The summit aims to highlight investment opportunities in the treatment of rare and orphan diseases. Cellectar is a late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of drugs for the treatment of cancer. According to the National Institutes of Health, there may be as many 7,000 rare diseases affecting as many as 25–30 million Americans.
