Study: Shoppers keeping the environment in mind

Consumers are changing what they buy and how they shop as they consider environmental concerns, according to new research by NYU Sterns School of Business. The study shows what retail sales reveal about sustainable product sales compared to their conventionally produced counterparts. Sustainable products comprise only 16% of the market share but represent nearly 55% of retail growth. From 2017–2019, sustainable products grew seven times faster than conventionally produced products.
