A 15-chapter nonprofit that began as a student-led food drive in Middleton has expanded to Sun Prairie and beyond as it aims to fight statewide food insecurity, WMTV15 reports.

Meals Matter, founded by Middleton students Noah Duckett and Wyatt Ehrhardt, started with a collection of several tons of food for local pantries through food drives in 2024.

The Sun Prairie chapter was launched recently by Clara Uhler and Kate Noack of Sun Prairie West High School, who are dual enrolled at Madison College.

Students outside of grocery stores have a script and a list of most-needed items for Sunshine Place, a local food pantry. Their record so far is 5,700 pounds of food raised for the organization.
