Even with high oil prices and economic uncertainty surrounding the Iran war, U.S. stocks rose thanks to a strong job market across the nation, according to the Associated Press.
On Friday, the S&P 500 climbed 0.9% and was close to topping its all-time high thanks to news that the U.S. added 115,000 jobs in April.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.6% higher and was nearing a record high.
This is the sixth week in a row that the S&P experienced gains, and its longest streak since 2024.
