Strategic plan incorporates more remote work for state employees

In a new long-term plan for state employees and office space, Gov. Tony Evers is planning for more remote work and less state office space, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The state’s reduced real estate portfolio considers the possibility many state employees could work remotely on a permanent basis. The administration’s “Vision 2030” strategic plan anticipates moving the Wisconsin Veterans Museum to a redevelopment that would require the demolition of the four-story, 271,493-square-foot General Executive Facility. The proposal is part of Evers’ vision of consolidating state office spaces, reducing the state’s physical footprint, and increasing remote-work opportunities. The proposal would need to be approved through the state’s capital budget process over the next several years.
