Stoughton Trailers LLC, a manufacturer of transportation equipment, announced in a recent press release that it broke ground at its national headquarters site in Stoughton. The company is the nation’s fourth-largest manufacturer of semitrailers and was recently recognized as the 10th largest employer in Dane County.
Since 1966, Stoughton Trailers administrative employees have been working from the company’s home office building at 416 S. Academy St., which is also home to the company’s engineering, research, and design group and testing facility.
The new corporate headquarters will be located on the corner of Highway 51 and County Road B and will house approximately 200 employees. The manufacturing of all products will remain at the current locations in Stoughton, Brodhead, Evansville, and Waco, Texas.
The 53,000-square-foot facility will feature a workout gym, exercise studio, locker rooms, collaborative workspaces, and other amenities. The 182-acre property will include approximately 36 acres of ponds, prairie, and wetlands as well as a 28-acre community park.
