According to NBC15, Stoughton’s The Pizza Pit closed early last Friday after an overwhelming community response to a fundraiser for the family of a person who suffered fatal gunshot wounds that week. The pizza parlor donated all money from its sales that day to the Rupp family and sold so much that the restaurant ran out of ingredients and had to close three and a half hours earlier than planned.
A Monday update from The Pizza Pit said it raised nearly $15,000 for the Rupps — $10,406.93 of which came from food sales and cash donations totaling $4,341.33.
While the fundraiser has concluded, those interested in helping the family can still provide support via a GoFundMe page or the “William Rupp memorial fund” at One Community Bank.
